10. Violet Jane4 Walker (Ann (Annie)3 Blacket(t), Thomas2 Blackett, William1) was born in Tempest Place, Seaham Harbour, Co. Durham 1 May 1876. Copy certificate issued 31 August 2005. Ref. Easington 10a 510. Violet died 1 February 1939 in Durham North district, at 62 years of age. Free BMD has an entry Ref. Volume 10A Page 604 for a Violet J Lowes showing her age 62. Copy of death card sent by Angie Walker, great granddaughter, gives exact date and vonfirms aged 62. Address was Hazelmont, Highfield, Chester-le-Street. Her body was interred 4 February 1939. Information from great granddaughter.

She married William Lowes in St Giles Church, Durham, 25 December 1902. Free BMD site has an entry for both parties ref. Durham 10a 595. Copy of marriage certificate sent by Angie Walker showing exact date and place of marriage.

William was born in Ferryhill, Co. Durham about 1879. Year and place of birth taken from 1911 Census.

William died 3 September 1945 at 66 years of age. His body was interred 3 September 1945 in Chester-le-Street Cemetery. Information from Angie Walker great granddaughter.

He was listed as head of household in the 1911 UK Census in 85 Front Street, Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham. RG14 PN30094, RG78PN1738, RD 554, SD1, ED10 shows William aged 32 a Clothing and Mersey Manager and Dealer born Ferryhill, Violet Jane 34 born Seaham Harbour, Queenie 6 born Durham City, Willam 2 and Ernest 11 months both born Chester-le-Street. Married for 8 years with 3 children.

She was baptized in Easington, Co. Durham, 1876. Religion: religion unknown. Durham Records Online has an entry Ref. 61689.0.

She was listed as head of household in the 1881 census in Theatre Road, Wells Next Sea, Norfolk. RG11 Piece 1988 Folio 37 Pages 1516. Robert aged 31 (should be 33), a nurseryman, Annie 31, Annie B 7 born Killingworth, Northumberland, Violet 4 months born Seaham Co. Durham and George H 2 born Seghill Northumberland. Probably lived at The Nurseries - house by this name still exists.

She was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in Silkeys Lane, Chirton, Northumberland. Census RG12 Piece 4224 Folio 114 Page 47. Robert aged 42 a gardener, Annie 43 shown as being born at North Shields instead of South Shields, Violet 14, George H (shown as Henry G) 12 and Sydney (shown as Sidney V) 8. Sydney's birth place is Wells, Norfolk with the others shown as in the 1881 Census.

She was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 52-53 Gilesgate, Durham. RG13 Piece 4682 Folio 44 Page 15. Robert aged 47 but 1891 Census said 4 2, occupation gardener not domestic born Snettisham. Annie aged 50 born S outh Shields, Violet 23 born Seaham, Harry 21 a coachman (not domestic) b orn Killingworth and Sydney 18 a Footman (domestic). born Wells
