Birth Certificate held dated 16 December 1941. Birth registered on 4 November 1909. Father's occupation: Curate of St Bartholomew, Westhoughton. William died 28 June 2005 in St Ives House, Ashley Heath, Ringwood, at 95 years of age.

He married Nellie Hall in Parish Church, Wombourne, near Wolverhampto, 18 November 1939. Nellie was born in 8 Gill Strret, Netherton, Dudley, West Midlands 27 January 1909. Nellie was the daughter of David Hall and Dorothy Ann Farmer. Nellie died 23 October 1985 in Victoria Memorial Hospital, Welshpool, Powys, at 76 years of age. She was listed as head of household in the 1911 UK Census in 8 Gill Strret, Netherton, Dudley, West Midlands. RG14PN17454 RG78PN1067 RD372 SD4 ED31 SN198 shows David 34 iron pig weigher born Netherton, Dorothy Ann 30 born Old Hill married 3 years, Alice 3 born Netherton and Nellie 2 born Netherton. David and Dorothy had 2 children both living.
