3. Samuel Claude2 Walker (Sydney Claude3, Robert Thomas4, Thomas5)(1) was born in Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham 7 December 1909.(2) Certificate issued 17 January 1910. Entry No. 425 in Register Book No. 125. Samuel died 3 August 1986 in Dryburn Hospital, Durham, at 76 years of age.(3) Certificate issued 5 August 1986. Entry No. 150 of Durham Central Sub-District.

He married Mary Richardson Williams in Parish Church of Chester-le-St, Co. Durham, 1 June 1938.(4) Certificate Entry No. 186. He described as a Shop Manager, her as a Shop Assistant. His father described as a Builders' Labourer, hers as a Retired Colliery deputy.

Mary was born in Langley Moor, Durham 6 January 1910.(5) Mary(6) was the daughter of Edward David Williams and Mary Annie Richardson. Mary died 10 July 1993 in Dryburn Hospital, Durham, at 83 years of age.(7) She was listed as head of household in the 1911 UK Census in 461 Whitwell Terrace, Langley Moor, Co. Durham.(8) RG14PN29928 RG78PN1732 RD551 SD1 ED6 SN235 shows Edward D aged 40 coal miner hewer, Mary Annie 37 married 17 years, Maria E 14, Thomas L 10, Elsie 6 and Mary R 1 all born Co. Durham.

Mary participated in the cremation event July 1993 in Birtley Crematorium, Co. Durham.(9)

Samuel's occupation: Leading Fireman.(10) He was listed as head of household in the 1911 UK Census in 4 West Lane, Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham.(11) RG14 PN30093, RG78PN1738, RD554, SD1, ED9, SN359 shows Sydney aged 28 a builder's cartman born Wells, Norfolk, Ada 23 born Sunderland and Samuel Claude 1. They have been married 1 year and have a child.
